Summer School – International security in a changing world

Purpose and objectives

The Summer School is aimed at international students aged between 18 and 22 who are interested in learning about and deepening their knowledge of cultural, linguistic, and cybersecurity aspects within the field of International Security in a Changing World.

Activities are carried out using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates lectures, laboratories, workshops, and experiential activities on site.

Educational objectives

The Summer School aims to:

  • Promote knowledge in the field of cybersecurity;
  • develop Italian language skills through dedicated lessons;
  • facilitate the acquisition of tools to communicate and promote cybersecurity and diplomacy;
  • encourage collaboration and intercultural exchange among students from different parts of the world.

Structure and schedule

The Summer School consists of a total of 52 hours, divided as follows:

  • 24 hours of Italian language lessons;
  • 18 hours of thematic workshops in English;
  • 9 hours of on-site activities.

The Summer School will last two weeks, from 6 July to 17 July 2026, and will be organized as described in Annex A.

Accommodation included in the program covers the period from 5 July to 18 July 2026 (13 nights).

Number of participants

The maximum number of participants is 20 students.

The University reserves the right not to hold the Summer School if the minimum number of registrations, set at 5 students, is not reached.

Applications are open only to international students aged between 18 and 22.

N.B. Students must have turned 18 by the date of arrival in Italy.

A basic knowledge of English is required (recommended level: B1).

No prior knowledge of Italian is required.

Registration procedure

Registration is completed by filling out the dedicated Registration Form (see Annex B).

Applications must be sent to internationalstudents@unint.eu no later than 30 April 2026.

Registration is considered confirmed upon payment of the registration fee of €140 by 30 April 2026. This fee will be refunded only if the minimum number of participating students is not reached.

Fees and included services

The participation fee includes:

  • Accommodation for 13 nights (05/07–18/07/2026) with breakfast;
  • lunch at the University;
  • participation in all lessons and workshops;
  • cultural activities and guided tours;
  • urban transport card for Rome;
  • dedicated tour guide.

Future benefits

Students who have attended the Summer School may, within two years, access the following benefits if enrolling at UNINT:

  • Recognition of an elective activity worth 6 CFU/ECTS within a UNINT master’s degree program;
  • 20% reduction of the tuition fee for the first academic year of the master’s program.

Attendance and final certificate

Attendance is mandatory for at least 75% of the scheduled activities.

All participants who meet attendance requirements will receive a certificate of participation.

Participation in guided tours and workshops is considered an integral part of the educational path.

Faculty and staff

Activities are carried out by:

  • UNINT faculty;
  • teachers from the University Language Center (CLA);
  • external experts and professionals;
  • accredited tour guides.
