THE MEETING: musical improvisation as a pedagogical “tool” for children

Objectives

The initiative aims to:

  • promote an intentional “educational-affective community culture” among all social actors and their networks;
  • to implement an assisted resilience intervention in the area where the welfare model is implemented to overcome the critical issues caused by dealing with contemporary multilevel emergencies (social, educational-parental, institutional, health, environmental, war, etc.);
  • prevent and stem the youth distress phenomena of our time through multidisciplinary interventions focused on the recovery of the "intergenerational division" and the "dialogue between adults and minors and between peers";
  • promote knowledge and professional implementation of the construct of “diffused parenting” among educational and care professionals.

Actions

The activity involves two phases:

  1. Laboratory-experiential-performative day: training seminar open to all interested public, specifically children;
  2. Creation of a musical event for the territory with:
    – Children's String Orchestra "The Colored Violin"
    – MANI BIANCHE (Popular School of Music of Testaccio) and MANINCANTO (Small Resonances Association)
    – Improvised Orchestra – RITMOCONSEGNI

Impact

The project proposal has the following objectives:

  • promote the pedagogical value of jazz and improvised music for a harmonious construction of the person;
  • recover creative thinking through the shared experience of musical practices in order to build integrated and peaceful communities;
  • enhance singing and instrumental skills to communicate emotions, sensations and atmospheres, so as to concretely start individual and collective paths of education to affectivity.
