The issue of gender inequality is one of the major obstacles to sustainable economic and social growth. Goal 5 of the UN Agenda 2030 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls) aims to eliminate economic inequalities, poor schooling of girls as well as all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls, in the private and public spheres (including trafficking in women and sexual exploitation, the abolition of forced and early marriages and female genital mutilation). Positive action means strengthening the empowerment of women in order to achieve effective equality of rights at all levels of inclusion, including leadership, in the labour market and the more equal presence of women in economic and political decision-making bodies and in public life.
