Digital Citizenship: An Example of Digital Cultural Marketing

Project funded by UNINT – Third Mission/Social Impact call (a.y. 2023/2024)
Project leaders: Anna Carla Nazzaro, Full Professor at UNINT; Antonio Iovanella, Researcher at UNINT TDB; Myriam Caratù, Researcher at UNINT TDA.

Objectives

The HERe&Now project, developed and implemented in Rome's Municipio VIII, represents an innovative and concrete initiative for cultural and social regeneration, using digital tools and participatory methodologies to promote a new, inclusive urban narrative.
In an era when the transformation of cities also requires the recognition of diversity and a plurality of points of view, HERe&Now represents an effective response to the need to make women's contributions to the construction of the urban, cultural, and social fabric more visible.

Actions

The project's core objective is to highlight the presence and role of women in various aspects of city life—from art to culture, from local history to personal services—through an accessible and interactive system that fosters the intersection of past, present, and future. This goal is embodied in an interactive digital map, easily accessible from any device, which guides residents and visitors on an experiential journey through the neighborhood. The map is not merely a technological tool, but a true collective narrative platform, where each geolocated point—be it a mural, a monument, a red bench, or a women's shelter—is accompanied by multimedia content: texts, photos, videos, interviews, and testimonials that explore the history and significance of the place, connecting it to the role of women. This type of experience fosters a more empathetic and informed connection with the urban space.

A final event is planned to present the completed website.
