Starting from the A.Y. 2019/2020 Università degli Studi Internazionali di Roma – UNINT is certified as testing centre for the International Test of Russian as a Foreign Language ТРКИ-TORFL, in partnership with St Petersburg University. The Testing Centre of St. Petersburg University was created in 1997, and it is in charge of organizing examinations all over the world. Its assessment system was developed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation within the Russian Language Program, and it is approved and recognized by ALTE, Association of Language Testers of Europe, and by the Council of Europe.
The ТРКИ-TORFL international certificate verifies the level of proficiency in Russian as a foreign language and is intended for non-Russian citizens. It covers all six levels of linguistic-communicative competence (from A1 to C2) identified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The examination provided for each level consists of five tests:
In order to obtain the TRKI-TORFL Certificate, candidates must pass each test with at least 66% correct answers, or pass 4 tests with at least 66% and one test with a score between 60% and 65%. If one or two tests are failed, they may be repeated within 2 years.

The tuition fee for each preparatory course leading to the award of the TRKI-TORFL Certificate amounts to € 400 to be paid upon enrolment.
