The University Language Centre (ULC) was established with Decree no. 1579 (2020). It is oriented to all those – mainly external users – willing to learn modern languages. It makes available for the territory the University teaching experience.
The ULC collaborates in the teaching of modern languages and encourages research in the field of language teaching.
To that end the ULC:

Students of any age and level of linguistic proficiency may be admitted to ULC courses.
The ULC organizes a language level test before classes begin so that each candidate can attend a course whose content is commensurate with their level.
The ULC provides Italian Language Courses for Foreigners aimed both at: foreign students enrolled at UNINT or spending their international mobility at UNINT; and foreigners who need to learn Italian for study or work reasons.
The ULC also provides basic, intermediate and advanced courses in the following languages:
The language courses offered by ULC provide a certificate indicating the language level achieved, upon passing a final test.
The materials, mostly created by the teachers of the courses themselves, will be provided during the lessons without any additional contribution to the course fees.
Upon request, courses for other levels and languages (European and extra-European), as well as laboratory exercises in translation (according to the desired sectoral languages) and interpretation (chuchotage, consecutive, dialogue, simultaneous) may be held. If necessary, streaming courses or ad hoc courses can also be provided in different work areas.
The courses, each lasting a total of 36 hours, are held in-person at the University - Via Cristoforo Colombo, 200 00147 Rome - and in live streaming:

It is possible to apply by 20 September 2021 for courses delivered in the first semester and by 7 February 2021 for courses delivered in the second semester by selecting the course of interest on the formazione.unint.eu platform.
The participation fee for each course is € 400 to be paid when registering.
For foreign students spending their international mobility at UNINT, participation in the Italian Language Course for Foreigners is free.
All courses require a minimum number of participants.
The ULC provides students with the opportunity to achieve International Certificates for Portuguese, Russian and Italian languages.
The ULC is certified as testing centre for the International Certificate of Portuguese as a Second Language CAPLE (Centro de Avaliação do Português Língua Estrangeira), established by the University of Lisbon Department of Portuguese Language and Culture (DLCP) of the Faculty of Arts. CAPLE was established in 1998 and accredited as a Certifying Body for the Portuguese language by the Ministry of Education. It deals with examinations and the evaluation of examination results, as well as theoretical and practical research into certification. The Certificate of Portuguese as a Foreign Language is aimed at non-Portuguese citizens (including students from Brazil and from Portuguese-speaking African countries).
Candidates may register for the exam they deem most appropriate to their linguistic level.

The ULC is certified as testing centre for the International Test of Russian as a Foreign Language ТРКИ-TORFL, also known as TRKI. Its assessment system was developed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation within the Russian language program, and is approved and recognized by ALTE, Association of Language Testers of Europe, and by the Council of Europe.
The diploma issued to participants following the exam certifies their linguistic competence and it is internationally recognised.
Six standard levels are provided:
The ULC is certified as testing centre for the Italian Language Certificate PLIDA.
The PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) diploma certifies proficiency in Italian as a Foreign Language.
The exam is divided into six levels, the ones proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Among them, UNINT offers the following:
Each level requires 4 tests, one for each language skill: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking. The duration of the exam varies depending on the level.
The PLIDA certificate is intended primarily for people whose mother tongue is not Italian. PLIDA can also be accessed by Italian native speakers who need their linguistic proficiency certified for study, work or other reasons.
Registration fees for PLIDA exams are established by the Dante Alighieri Society and are the same in all the authorized testing centres.
