MADEINT

(approved by the Board of Directors on 03/04/2019, minutes no. 97)

The Research Centre on Made in Italy (MADEINT) was established at the Department of Economics with a resolution of the Board of Directors on 6 July 2015.

Objectives and target audience

The objective of MADEINT is to carry out innovative research on the evolution of the structural and managerial characteristics of the Made in Italy sectors, with particular attention to the internationalisation strategies of SMEs. It is divided into six areas of thematic analysis focused on the perception of Italy and Italian brands on international markets, on the analysis of foreign markets characterised by greater attractiveness, on the characteristics and trends of the economy and of the Made in Italy sectors, on tourism and on the legislation for the protection of national productions and brands.
From this perspective, the interlocutors and recipients of the Centre's activities are national companies operating on foreign markets; institutional bodies, public and private, which carry out promotion and protection activities for Italian productions; the national and international scientific community; all those areas of civil society in which there is an interest in an adequate understanding of the structure and dynamics of operation of the Made in Italy sectors.

Areas of activity

The main activities carried out by MADEINT consist in the development of ad hoc analyses and studies on issues relating to the development strategies of Made in Italy and the internationalisation processes of Italian SMEs.
MADEINT also operates in close synergy with the educational offer of the Bachelor's degree course in Green management and sustainability and Master's degree course in Economics and International Management through the carrying out of the laboratory on Made in Italy, degree thesis and project work on businesses and dynamics of the typical Made in Italy sectors. The Centre promotes and organises seminars, scientific conferences and meetings with entrepreneurs and managers of leading Italian companies, national and international academics and experts working in public and private institutions. It can also promote the awarding of prizes to prominent figures - from the academic and business world - who have contributed to research on Made in Italy and to the promotion of the image of Italy and its products. The Research Centre can include professors, researchers and lecturers from Italian and foreign universities, institutions and experts in the scientific fields of interest. Membership takes place according to the procedures established by the Statute.
