GERBA Project: Our Commitment to Change
The University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT) promotes a project dedicated to supporting young adults who are victims of bullying, cyberbullying and gender-based violence, through a psychological help desk active three days a week.
The initiative offers a safe space for listening, needs analysis and targeted psychological support.
Objectives and target audience
Discrimination and violence, unfortunately, are part of our society and affect women and young people across the board, creating suffering and profound discomfort. With the advancement of technology, new forms of violence have emerged, such as cyberbullying, which amplify these problems and often make them invisible. Those who suffer these experiences can find themselves trapped in a silent pain, which compromises not only their mental health, but also their relationships with others and their self-confidence.
We often ask ourselves: Why has no one noticed? How can we give voice to those who suffer in silence?
The answer lies in building a listening and support network, capable of welcoming victims and accompanying them on a path of awareness and healing.
With this in mind, the University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT) has launched a psychological help desk project, designed to offer a safe and welcoming space to those who are victims of bullying, cyberbullying or gender-based violence.
Research activities
The helpdesk will be open three days a week, for a total of 12 hours, with the presence of a psychologist ready to listen and welcome anyone who needs support.
The goal is to provide:
- An empathetic first listening: a space where you feel welcomed without judgment.
- Needs analysis: understanding together the nature of the problem and the person's emotional experiences.
- Giving back and supporting: a path to develop awareness, activate personal resources and face difficulties in a constructive way.

This project is not intended to be a simple declaration of intent, but a concrete step forward to fight invisible pain and build a more attentive, inclusive and supportive community.
Walking together means leaving no one behind: our listening desk is here to demonstrate this, step by step.
