UNINT Speech 2022/2023

The project

UNINTSpeech, now in its fifth consecutive edition, is a project created with the aim of providing a testing ground for future interpreters. The general idea is to organize conferences following the TEDx format, whose guests are Italian and foreign professional speakers, and to therefore allow simultaneous, consecutive and dialogic interpreters to try their hand at real original texts and not mere simulations.

Students will have the opportunity to participate as:

  • audience by offering food for thought or asking questions to the speakers;
  • simultaneous interpreter in a silent booth for a first approach to the world of simultaneous interpretation, especially during the three-year period;
  • official interpreter (dialogue or simultaneous);
  • official speaker sharing the stage with important protagonists.

Although the team is completely renewed, the ideas and passion remain the same.

Some of the initiatives which, in previous editions, have been particularly successful, and which will therefore be proposed again for this edition, concern the organization of coffee breaks and lunches between the UNINTSpeech team and the speakers, as well as the creation and distribution of gadgets.

Thanks to the Scouting Team, UNINTSpeech participates in the most important TEDxItalia conferences in search of interesting and especially foreign speakers to invite to the conferences held at the University.
