The University of International Studies of Rome - UNINT, joins the IDEM service (IDEntity Management for federated access), the authorization and authentication infrastructure of the GARR network.
IDEM is the first Italian Federation of Authentication and Authorization Infrastructures (AAI), its aim is to allow users of the national scientific and academic community to more easily access online services and content made available by different organisations.
Membership in IDEM offers UNINT students, teachers and staff the advantage of using only institutional credentials for all resources available through the Federation.
Within the IDEM Federation, GARR acts as coordinator by providing the central infrastructure and services and signing the membership contracts.

To access all the available services you can use your access credentials to the online student secretarial system, to the computers and to the wireless service.

The services accessible through the Federation are made available by IDEM members and partners. The system, for each request to access the services, will provide the owner of the specific service with the following information:

- eduPersonScopedAffiliation (information about the user's affiliation with the organization they belong to, for example Student, Member, Staff, Affiliate, Alumn…)
Other identifiers (opaque)
- eduPersonTargetedID (anonymous, persistent, non-reassignable user identifier, which is a string automatically generated by the system that contains no user information)
