International Credit Mobility

International Credit Mobility

For over 30 years now, Europe has been funding the Erasmus programme. This has enabled more than 3 million European students to spend part of their studies across Europe in a higher education institution (HEI) other than their own.

Since 2015, Erasmus has opened its doors to the rest of the world, providing people and organizations from non-European countries with the opportunity to participate in the programme. Through key action 1 of the program (KA 107 and KA 171) International Credit Mobility – International Credit Mobility (ICM), students and members of the teaching and administrative staff can undertake a period of mobility in any  partner country on other continents.

Students can obtain credits abroad that are recognized in their country of origin, acquire new skills, support their own professional development and learn to understand new cultures through confrontation with societies and ways of living different from those typical of the European continent.

COMMO is a consortium made up of 16 Italian universities led by UNIMED .

Since 2015, the COMMO Consortium has been promoting staff and university student mobility exchanges through the KA171 call, previously called KA107, of the Erasmus+ Programme. Within the consortium, bilateral agreements have been stipulated with numerous universities in partner countries such as Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Montenegro, and Tunisia.
