Introduction to mindfulness and its effects in the academic context

Mindfulness, defined as the ability to be aware of the present moment without judgment, has been shown to have significant positive effects on psychological well-being, especially in academic settings. Numerous scientific studies have highlighted how the regular practice of mindfulness can help improve concentration, stress management and quality of life, crucial aspects for students immersed in the academic world. In particular, the introduction of mindfulness in educational institutions has been shown to promote a more centered learning environment, promoting attention, emotional awareness and resilience. Students who practice mindfulness often report an increased ability to manage exam pressure, cope with stressful academic situations, and improve interpersonal relationships. In this context, therefore, mindfulness can promote a better psychological state of students and consequently a better academic life for the entire University.
