Prior to their arrival at the university, incoming exhange students can rely on the Student Exchange and International Relations Office (UMRI) as a primary point of contact within the institution. Apart from offering email support, the office also arranges online information sessions to guide incoming exchange students through the enrolment process at the university. These sessions cover various topics, including how to sign up for exams, enrolment in the complimentary Italian language course for incoming students, as well as providing guidance on administrative procedures such as visas and permits required for their stay in Italy.

Prior to the commencement of each semester, the office arranges a Welcome Day specifically designed for incoming exchange students. This event brings together UNINT students who have volunteered as Buddies, representatives from the Erasmus Student Network, and the teacher of the Italian language course for incoming students.
