Following the sad events linked to the death of twenty-one year old Willy Monteiro Duarte, of Cape Verdean origins, the University of International Studies of Rome - UNINT, in order to strengthen the value of culture as a major deterrent to the spread of violence among young people, for the The 2020/2021 academic year proposes a scholarship reserved for Cape Verdean students or students of Cape Verdean origin who intend to enroll in the first year of one of the three-year degree courses at the University of International Studies of Rome - UNINT, providing for total exemption from fees for the three years of the cycle.

Merit in study is the basis of the system for determining tuition fees provides scholarships reserved for the ten most deserving students for each year of each degree course (top 10) based on the results of the previous year.

The scholarships include a reduction in the first year tuition fee Bachelor's degree courses to those enrolled with a high school diploma grade of 90 to 100 and a reduction in the fee for the second and/or third year provided that they are among the ten most deserving students in terms of average, number of exams and international experiences of the degree course in which they are enrolled for each year.

Subscribers to Master's degree courses benefit from a reduction in the first year's tuition fees provided they obtain a grade between 105 and 110 at graduation. This reduction also applies to all those enrolled who have attended a three-year degree course at UNINT.

The scholarships also provide that the ten most deserving students in terms of average, number of exams and international experiences for the master's degree courses mentioned above will be subject to a reduction in the second year's fees.

In order to contribute to the valorisation of excellence and to participate in the Italian social and cultural advancement, Università degli Studi Internazionali di Roma - UNINT promotes a dynamic dimension of studies and issues these calls for application for the awarding of scholarships intended for students who have achieved good results in school and who have simultaneously acquired transversal skills by expressing their talent through significant extracurricular experiences.

The fields of activity that will be examined for the purposes of this selection to evaluate the background extracurricular merit  of the candidates are: volunteering, environmental sustainability, innovation, solidarity, social inclusion, participation in democratic life, sport practiced at a competitive level during studies and art in its various forms of expression.

All grants are renewable for the years following the first on the condition that merit in university studies continues to be accompanied by constant commitment to the extracurricular activities on the basis of which the selection was made.

For the academic year 2020/2021 the assignment of 36 scholarships (12 for each three-year degree course activated at UNINT) to graduates who enroll for the academic year. 2020/2021 to one three-year degree course activated by the University of International Studies of Rome – UNINT. The scholarships consist of the assignment of 36 partial exemptions worth 50% of the standard fee due for enrollment in the 2020/2021 academic year in the first year of a three-year degree course. Deadline: 31 July 2020.

For the academic year 2020/2021 the assignment of 13 scholarships (of which 6 for the master's degree course in International Economics and Management, 4 for the master's degree course in Interpreting and Translation and 3 for the master's degree course in Languages ​​and Innovative Teaching) to undergraduates or graduates who enroll for the academic year 2020/2021. The scholarships consist of the assignment of 13 partial exemptions worth 50% of the standard fee due for enrollment in the 2020/2021 academic year in the first year. Deadline: August 31, 2020.

The students of Bachelor's and Master's degree courses, the learners of Master's programmes and PhDs and UNINT Erasmus students who wish to do so will be able to contribute to the independent financing of their studies with the “per Merito” loan  thanks to the agreement entered into with Intesa Sanpaolo, which provides for favorable conditions subject to an exclusively meritocratic evaluation.

The agreement provides students with the possibility of accessing a loan fixed rate which will be granted in the form of a current account credit opening for a maximum of 5 years. After the disbursement phase it is possible to benefit from a bridging period whose expected duration is a maximum of 2 years. After this period, the beneficiary is required to repay the sums used and has the right to request the granting of a loan according to an amortization plan with an agreed duration of a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 30 years through the payment of monthly installments, including principal and interest. .

Below are the interest rates applied to the opening of current account credit and to the loan:

  • Opening of credit in current account: Eurirs 10 years + 1,30%;
  • Installment repayment loan: 
    – for loans up to 10 years Eurirs 10 years + 1,30%; 
    – for loans over 10 years Eurirs 15 years + 1,50%;

 

The 10 and 15 year Eurirs parameters are recalculated every year taking as reference their value existing on the penultimate working day.

To access the loan, the student does not need particular guarantees or the intervention of third parties, but only his commitment to studying. The sum is made available on the current account of the beneficiary student and the disbursements are subject to the achievement of a certain number of ECTS per semester.

NB For beneficiaries of the “merit” loan only, the deadline for the second installment of the three-year and master's degree courses is set at 31 March 2021.

Il right to study manages scholarships and other concessions in favor of deserving students in particular economic conditions and offers assistance to students with disabilities, facilitating their teaching activities through tutors and special technical supports.

Access to the benefits provided by the right to study occurs through participation in the scholarship competition in collaboration with Lazio DiSCo. The call for applications usually opens in the summer period and the application can be submitted exclusively online. The amount of the scholarship varies depending on the location status of the student in the competition phase. The off-site status, to be considered as such, must be demonstrated through a regular rental contract with a minimum duration of ten months.
