The Master’s degree course in Economics and International Management – Digital Marketing and Export Curriculum (LM-77) addresses the strong demand for professionals specialised in developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies for international markets and based on the use of the digital channel, in the awareness that digital media, artificial intelligence and
E-commerce represents and will increasingly represent the primary means of communication and access to domestic and international markets. According to Statista data, the value of global e-commerce is expected to reach $8.15 billion in 2026 (up from approximately $5.1 billion in 2021), while overall investments in digital communication through social media will exceed $234 billion in 2024 (up from $97.5 billion in 2019), with further growth projected to exceed $345 billion in 2029.  

 In this perspective, the curriculum combines knowledge of the workings of international markets with theoretical and practical expertise in international marketing, digital communication, social media management, e-commerce and digital innovation. The lectures are complemented by seminars and meetings on the latest developments in new media, with the help of case studies and corporate testimonials.    

 The structure of the Course includes laboratoriesfocused on the use of artificial intelligence in the production and management of web content (content management), on digital advertising and on the analysis of corporate web reputation through the use of sentiment analysis techniques. Students will also acquire solid language training, thanks to the presence of numerous courses taught in English and 5 laboratories on languages for business (Chinese, French, English, Russian and Spanish). 

 Thanks to UNINT's innovative teaching formula, students can attend both in-presence and live-stream lectures through the UNINT Everywhere platform. 

Admission to the Degree course is free, with a non-selective interview to verify the initial requirements. In consideration of the characteristics of the courses and the type of professional profile for which students are trained, the Curriculum is mainly aimed at students who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in the fields of economics, languages, cultural mediation, public relations and communication.

Professional profile and career opportunities

The Digital Marketing and Export Curriculum trains graduates to take on responsible roles within the marketing and export management functions of companies operating in all sectors that aready use, or are preparing to use, digital channels to build and manage relationships with their customers on a global scale. In particular, gradutates may be employed as digital marketing managers, digital export managerssocial media managerse-commerce managersweb designersweb analysts and communication officers. Graduates may also provide consultancy services within web agencies and digital marketing companies, or establish their own independent professional practice in this field.   

Thanks to the skills acquired during their studies, at the end of the Course students will be able to:

  • define and implement digital marketing and communication plans aimed at international markets;
  • analyse and identify the most suitable web and social channels in relation to the cultural characteristics of foreign consumer targets;
  • develop, also with the help of artificial intelligence, web content for the enhancement of products and brands nationally and internationally;
  • manage the commercialisation of products and services in foreign markets, both through direct e-commerce platforms and through the main global marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Alibaba, etc.);
  • understand and correctly assess national and international regulatory constraints related to foreign trade and digital communication;
  • evaluate the performance of digital marketing actions and analyse the web reputation of products and brands on an international scale.

Accreditation and Membership

UNINT is a partner of leading international academic associations that promote the adoption of quality standards of excellence in educational and scientific activities.

Due to its recognised quality requirements in language training, the Department of International Humanities and Social Sciences is among the four Italian members of CIUTI (Conférence Internationale Permanente d'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes) and its Master's degree course in Interpreting and Translation (LM-94) is part of the EMT network (European Master's in Translation) promoted by the European Commission. Moreover, UNINT is a member of AACSB – Business Education Alliance and has started the accreditation procedure for its Degree courses in the area of economics and business.

As part of the activities related to quality assurance, since 2021 UNINT has been certified in accordance with the regulation UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015On February 8, 2021, the first certificate was issued, confirmed for 2022 and 2023. In 2024, the new certificate was obtained and on January 30, 2026, the certification was confirmed for the year 2026. UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 for "Teaching, training, research and third mission activities", attesting to the correct definition and execution of the processes implemented within the University.

Courses

The training pathway of the Degree course in Economics and International Management - Digital Marketing and Export Curriculum is structured in such a way as to provide solid knowledge and tools of the following topics over the two years of study:

  •  the fundamentals of international marketing and management and the role of digital innovation in the evolution of international trade;
  •  the structure and phases of a digital marketing plan and the use of web analytics as a performance monitoring tool; 
  • the characteristics and functioning of the main social channels operating in international markets
  •   the fundamentals of digital communication and techniques for web content processing through the help of new artificial intelligence systems;  
  • cross border e-commerce and the methods of managing the international marketing of products and services through both direct and indirect digital channels;
  •  the national and international regulations related to export, multimedia communication and e-commerce.

Digital skills and laboratories

The professional profile shaped by the curriculum is enhanced by the presence of thematic laboratories designed to deepen the key competences associated with the professional profiles trained by the Degree course: the Laboratory on Digital Content Management and AI, the Laboratory on Web Reputation and Sentiment Analysis (developed with ISTAT faculty), the Laboratory on Customer Journey and CRM (in partnership with Salesforce), and the Laboratory on Virtual Reality and Metaverse: Store Design & Management, conducted using state‑of‑the‑art headsets.

Language training and certifications

Graduates of the Degree course will develop solid intercultural communication skills thanks to the presence of numerous courses delivered in English. The curriculum also includes:

  • 6 ECTS dedicated to business English, with the possibility to choose between a basic course and an advanced course in English for ICT;
  • mandatory attendance of a Laboratory on Language for business with the possibility to choose among the following languages: Chinese, French, English, Russian and Spanish.

The University Language Centre grants new students enrolled for the 2026/2027 academic year (Bachelor’s or Master's degree courses in any of the Degree courses offered by the University) the opportunity to take an international certification examination , at no additional cost, choosing from among the certifications offered through the University’s partnership agreements.

The course delves into the competitive market strategies of global companies, with particular reference to international management methods, foreign markets analysis and assessment, the planning of entry strategies and international customer relationships management.

The course aims to develop specific skills on digital media marketing and communication focusing on strategies and techniques. In particular, the course focuses on the approaches to drafting a web marketing plan, social media marketing, tools and metrics for results evaluation.

International economics (basic course)
The course aims to provide a solid understanding of the theories and operating principles of international real and financial markets, with a focus on economic globalisation, the international monetary system and European integration. Upon completion, students will be able to understand and analyse global and national economic scenarios.

Economics of Global Trade (advanced course in English)
The course aims to provide advanced theoretical and analytical tools to assess the political and social dynamics underlying international economic relations. Particular attention will be paid to theories of international trade, the management of economic relations and the analysis of globalisation effects.

The course provides practical skills for managing, creating, and optimizing digital content, integrating artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency and creativity. Content strategy, data analysis, and content management techniques for digital marketing will be learned.

Budgetary techniques (basic course)
The course aims to introduce students to the principles and techniques of drawing up corporate financial statements. Students will acquire skills in internal control procedures, in the audit of financial statements and operating cycles, as well as in the evaluation of social accounting and various corporate frameworks.

Sustainability Auditing and Reporting (advanced course)
The course covers the fundamentals of corporate sustainability at an advanced level, with a focus on the principles and methodologies underlying sustainable business practices and the tools for analysing and reporting on sustainability performance.

The course aims to introduce students to the regulatory system of international trade, with a focus on aspects regulated by international treaties and conventions. Students will develop skills relating to the management of regulatory constraints, cross-border operations, and the drafting and understanding of international contracts.

English for international affairs (basic course)
The course aims to provide students with intermediate level language skills specific to the economic world, with particular attention to effective communication in corporate contexts and the drafting of commercial documents in English.

English for Information and Communication Technology (advanced course)
The course offers an overview on the English language in the ICT sector at an advanced level, focusing on the specific terminology of the sectors of digital communication, media and new technologies.

The course intends to delve into the legislation regarding digital communication and antitrust regulations in technological markets, with the aim of teaching students specific knowledge on the national and international regulatory framework and the related restrictions placed on the competitive communication strategies of digital companies .

The course focuses on the strategies and techniques of international marketing of goods and services through digital channels, examining both direct sales through corporate e-commerce and indirect sales through the main global marketplaces (e.g. Amazon , Alibaba).

Data analysis for business (basic course in Italian) 
The course provides basic skills for data analysis and interpretation, enabling students to acquire the most relevant analysis methods and techniques to support business management, market analysis and economic performances.

Data driven decision making (advanced course in English)
The course provides advanced skills in complex data processing and interpretation. It combines skills in modern data analysis tools with the ability to manage their integration into the overall managerial decision system.

The course analyzes crucial variables, dynamics and economic impact of digital networks. Also, it accompanies students in the study of the models for the rapid diffusion of technological innovation on global markets.

Export taxation 
The course provides the necessary tax-related skills for the proper management of multinational business transactions and delves into the main domestic and international tax profiles of import/export activities.

Data governance and privacy
The course aims to train students in responsible management methodologies of data available in an organisation, exploring the impact of privacy regulations, the characteristics of data governance architectures and information security management.

Chinese Commercial and Tax Law
The course provides an overview of the legal regime applicable to business and investment activities in China and aims to deepen knowledge of the legal instruments and constraints governing economic relations with the Chinese context.

Logistics and global supply chain
The course analyzes the principles and models of logistics and global supply chain management and delves into the coordination of material, information, and financial resource flows in international contexts. Strategic, operational, and organizational supply chain decisions are examined, with a particular focus on sustainability, risk management, and the resilience of global networks. Case studies and practical applications support the development of managerial skills in the international supply chain.

Laboratory on Web reputation and Sentiment analysis
The laboratory, developed in collaboration with ISTAT, provides students with practical skills for analysing the online imagine and reputation of a company or brand by monitoring the “sentiment” generated by the ratings and comments of digital users.

Laboratory on Virtual reality and Metaverse: store design & management
The course delves into the structure and definition of the metaverse and virtual reality by focusing on the tools and software for creating VR environments and on digital marketing strategies for the metaverse, in order to develop a store design project in VR.

Laboratory on Customer journey and CRM (in partnership with Salesforce)

The lab introduces students to the use of the Salesforce CRM platform for the automatic management of data functional to the activities of acquisition, profiling and management of customer relationships and for the optimization of the purchasing process. Students have the opportunity to analyze the phases of the digital customer journey and to use Salesforce CRM solutions on real business cases.

Laboratory on Language for business (Chinese)
The laboratory, which requires prior knowledge of the Chinese language, aims to provide practical and cultural skills to operate in the Chinese economic context, delving into the linguistic aspects and negotiation dynamics of the Chinese cultural context.

Laboratory on Language for business (French)
The laboratory, which requires prior knowledge of the French language, focuses on developing linguistic and cultural skills to interact in the French economic context. The aim is to provide students with a linguistic fluency suitable for understanding commercial and business dynamics.

Laboratory on Language for business (English)
The laboratory allows students to further delve into business English, improve business vocabulary and practice speaking, listening and writing skills, in order to communicate with confidence in business situations that require advanced use of the English language.

Laboratory on Language for business (Russian)
The laboratory, which requires prior knowledge of the Russian language, aims to provide linguistic and socio-cultural tools for communicating in the Russian economic world. Among the cognitive objectives are the understanding of commercial dynamics, negotiation practices and adaptation strategies to the Russian cultural context.

Laboratory on Language for business (Spanish)
The laboratory, which requires prior knowledge of the Spanish language, aims to develop communication and linguistic skills in Spanish, with a focus on terminology, commercial negotiation and business presentations in Spanish-speaking contexts.

Curriculum Compilation Guide

At the beginning of the academic year, the University organises dedicated sessions to guide students through the completion of their curricula. During these sessions, which involve faculty, the Orientation Office, and the Student Secretariat, studetns receive technical instructions on how to complete their curriculum, as well as general information regarding the training offer and the awarding of credits.

Study Abroad Experiences and Internships

Given the University's strong international outlook, UNINT's Degree courses offer students the opportunity to spend a period abroad for study or internship purposes, thanks to a network of over 100 international agreements with European and non-European universities. The University also has around 700 active agreements for internships and work placements with public and private institutions in Italy and abroad.

Pathway of Excellence

The Pathway of Excellence enables a limited number of particularly deserving students, selected on the basis of their study results through a special call for applications issued annually by the University, to have free access to a training pathway that is supplementary to the one provided for in the curriculum, the contents of which are defined in agreement with the student, who obtains, together with the degree, an additional certificate that is recorded in the academic career certification

Admission requirements, verification of initial preparation and pre-courses

Admission to the Course is subject to possession of one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or three-year university diploma or other qualification obtained abroad and recognised as equivalent to the following classes: L-14, L-16, L-18, L-33, L-36, L-37, L-40 (DM 270/2004) and classes 2, 15, 17, 19, 28, 31 (DM 509/1999);
  • Bachelor's degree or three-year university diploma other than those listed above, provided that at least 50 ECTS have been obtained in specific disciplinary areas defined in the academic regulations of the Degree course.

For enrolment purposes, a mandatory interview with a board of lecturers is requirde. This happens in order to verify personal preparation and the adequacy of curricular requirements.

Pre-courses

To support students in starting and organising their studies, 4 pre-courses in fundamentals of political economy, economics and business management, law and statistics are available before the start of lectures. Participation in the preliminary courses is optional and does not presuppose pre-enrolment or enrolment in the Degree course in Economics and International Management.
