The Bachelor's degree course in Political Science, International Security and Crime – Cybersecurity Curriculum (L-36) addresses the growing need for highly qualified professionals in the field of security and in particular in cybersecurity and its governance in order to prevent and deal with cyber attacks and breaches and more generally to ensure the protection of sensitive data and information in companies and public administrations.

The demand for cybersecurity specialists is rising rapidly, due to the increase of threats related to the use of digital technologies, the international situation and the lack of "cyberskills": in particular, data from the European Union's Eurobarometer show that, although 71% of companies consider cybersecurity a strategic priority, more than half of them encounter difficulties in recruiting suitable professional profiles due to the lack of qualified personnel. Consequently, despite an estimate of approximately 5,5 million professionals already working in the field of cybersecurity worldwide, there is a need for a further 3,9 million professionals, of which about 100 thousand in Italy.

The Course is designed on the basis of the ENISA (EU Agency for Cybersecurity) Skills Framework, where, also in support of universities, the framework of skills required in the European context to strengthen cybersecurity in the European Union is outlined. Cosequently, the curriculum is characterised by an innovative multidisciplinary approach aimed at providing students with a transversal knowledge of the main challenges related to cybersecurity, international security and fight against crime, whose cyber, legal, managerial and sociological profiles are explored in depth, as well as their framing in the international geopolitical context.

Students will also acquire basic digital skills and a solid language training by studying two foreign languages to be chosen among the nine offered by the University.

Thanks to UNINT's innovative teaching formula, students can attend both in-presence and live-stream lectures through the UNINT Everywhere platform.

Given the innovative nature of the Curriculum, the Course provides access to a limited number of students for a maximum of 60 through a test to verify basic knowledge.

Professional profile and career opportunities

The Degree course in Political Science, International Security and Crime - Cybersecurity Curriculum enables the acquisition of skills suitable both for direct access to the labour market and for the pursuit of Master's studies, particularly in the field of international relations.
